Alison Doody Honoured at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Almería
Irish actress Alison Doody — known internationally for her role as the treacherous Dr. Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989, dir. Steven Spielberg) alongside Harrison Ford and Sean Connery, and for her Bond role in A View to a Kill (1985) — was honoured at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Almería (Fical).
Almería has a deep and well-documented connection to Hollywood: Leone’s Spaghetti Western trilogy, Lawrence of Arabia and 2001: A Space Odyssey were all filmed in the province. The festival’s Walk of Fame and annual tributes celebrate that legacy — placing Doody in the company of previous honourees including Omar Sharif, Ridley Scott, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sophia Loren.
